details

I’m James Biggs, a fine art photographer living in beautiful, rural North Wales.

I use a variety of cameras to create my vision of the surrounding landscape, and the creatures that inhabit it. In the main, my work is black and white and often taken on old film cameras, but you may well find the occasional colour portfolios which are deliberately taken soft and with minimal focusing.

These visions are based upon shapes and space with the interplay of light and shade used to create an emotional response that can be read as both positive and negative.

Ultimately, I am aiming to elicit strong feelings of Love/Hate rather than Like/Nice.

Veterinary medicine is my main career path and I have been a practicing vet for over 20 years. Photography is very much a passion, and allows a meditative stillness and a slow careful pace to my otherwise busy alternative life.
